We are NHS staff collecting unused masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) and raising £250,000 to buy more to protect NHS staff from coronavirus
This is a time-critical issue. There is a desperate shortage of effective PPE TODAY because, despite the best efforts of the government and the NHS to buy more, there isn’t enough well-fitted PPE available for all our NHS colleagues. Without PPE, NHS staff are potentially endangering themselves and could unknowingly spread the disease. The number of cases is expected to rise and many doctors around the world have contracted COVID19 while caring for sick patients.
Each mask or PPE you donate or help purchase could potentially save lives. Your contributions will be directly delivered to NHS staff in hospitals and GPs, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, physiotherapists, porters, cleaners, kitchen staff and everyone needed to keep the NHS working.
How You Can Help
We need your help so that together we can achieve the following goals:
1. COLLECT UNUSED MASKS AND PPE
2. RAISE FUNDS TO BUY MORE PPE
3. SPREAD AWARENESS AND ORGANISE LOCAL COLLECTIONS
Who We Are
We are NHS colleagues (doctors and nurses) who work in the orthopaedic department at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. We want to help support our brilliant colleagues and work friends during this crisis. Aman and Salma trained in Cambridge and undertook specialist orthopaedic registrar training in Oxford, where they worked with Jaswinder Sami.

Why Do We Need Help TODAY?
With thousands more coronavirus cases predicted over the coming weeks, we need to protect our NHS heroes immediately from TODAY by providing them with whatever PPE we can immediately access. This is why we are asking people to donate any masks they may already have. We have already seen in the UK and other countries that some selfless doctors who were caring for patients ended up contracting coronavirus themselves. The risk of contracting coronavirus is reduced with PPE, particularly with N95 face masks and FFP2/3 masks. Your contributions will be directly delivered to NHS staff in hospitals, which includes doctors, nurses, paramedics, physiotherapists, porters, cleaners, kitchen staff and all the people in many roles required to keep the NHS working.
We are working to support government measures and the NHS across the United Kingdom. However we cannot wait for delayed deliveries or manufacturing when we desperately need PPE immediately to protect and save lives
